Gut health is so important to me so I am constantly finding ways to add fermented foods, filled with probiotics to my meals. This recipe turned out so good! This isn’t a basic avocado toast. This is full of probiotics that are good for the gut. It not only looks vibrant but tastes as good as it looks!    

Ingredients

  • 1 piece of Ezekiel bread
  • 1/2  of an Avocado
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Red Pepper Flakes
  • Hot honey
  • Kimchi    

This savory toast recipe is a perfect way to switch up from your typical avocado toast. It has added nutritional benefits and will keep you feeling full. Add an egg on top to incorporate some extra protein if desired. It is bursting with flavor and is sure to become a new favorite staple in your diet. I branched out to try kimchi thinking I might not like it but was pleasantly surprised and have come to love it! Give it a shot and try out this gut healthy toast and maybe you will be just as surprised as I was! 

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Toast a slice of Ezekiel Bread

Step 2

Mash half of an avocado 

Step 3

Add salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes to mashed avocado 

Step 4

Add avocado mixture to toast and drizzle on hot honey

Step 5

Top with kimchi
